In this video, Alfonso Peccatiello, CEO and Founder of ‘The Macro Compass’ talks about the current economic situation and inflation in the country.
He firstly talks about the inflation that has been going down compared to previous months. But he warns that this doesn’t mean that inflation has been defeated which was earlier also stated by Powell as he said in a statement that until inflation isn’t defeated there will be no ease in monetary policy which indicated that inflation situation hasn’t been completely dealt with yet.
Further he states that according to cycles and trends we can expect the Inflation rate to go down to 2% by late 2023/ beginning of 2024.
He also talks about the upcoming recession in 2023 and what to expect in the next 9-12 months which include hike in unemployment which is expected to reach 6.5%, less expenditures and negative cycle for earnings. Moreover, he gives advice regarding different sectors e.g., the housing market, stock market etc.
